The Role

Due to a period of growth, Pole Star Digital are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Operations Director / Search Consultant to join our fast growing team.

The Day-to-Day

- At least 36 months’ experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of delivering successful campaigns (in-house or agency)

- Establishing, building and expanding key relationships with our clients

- Identifying new opportunities to guarantee our clients are getting the maximum benefit from our services and working relationships

- Have a 360-degree view on our active projects ensuring that we deliver on time, on budget and to high standards

- Translating the clients’ needs and goals into a clear and achievable road map

- Anticipating and addressing any potential client issues before they develop

- Liaising with our teams to ensure that we deliver the services required

- Developing and helping implement the SEO strategy; working to project KPIs you set out

- Conducting technical SEO audits & analysis, working alongside client/development partner to implement recommendations

- Conducting detailed keyword research, competitor analysis, identifying opportunities & developing content-led SEO strategies

- Working alongside our content team in creative content development, syndication & outreach (link development)

- Analysing campaign performance and making data-informed adjustments

- Staying on top of the latest SEO developments, advocating best practices and sharing your findings with other members of the team

- Creating bespoke client reporting

About You

You will be extremely comfortable and confident in communicating regularly with clients, maintaining and developing our existing relationships. You will be well versed in our core offering, being able to develop strategies and client roadmaps to achieve the desired results.

You will act as the main bridge between our clients and the services that we offer (SEO, Paid Media, Social Media and Content Marketing). You will head up facilitating work involving multiple team members, external suppliers, and occasionally partner agencies. You will be instrumental in ‘keeping the ship afloat’, making sure that everyone is on the same page and are working towards the same goal.

You are a proactive individual, constantly learning and developing your skill-set. You are up-to-date in all of the latest SEO tools and techniques. You are not afraid to look outside of your discipline, taking inspiration from a broad compass of digital and traditional marketing campaigns in order to keep your finger on the pulse and be the best at what you do. You enjoy a challenge and get a kick out of showing real-world success for clients, ultimately being proud of work that your name is on.

The ideal candidate will be able to conduct themselves in a professional manner with impeccable written, communication, organisational and project management skills. You will have a hunger to learn, and importantly a familiarity with a number of SEO, PPC and Content Marketing processes and techniques. You will work directly with Ned Poulter, agency founder, helping to develop strategies and facilitating the delivery of best-in-class digital marketing campaigns to an exciting, and ever-growing, client base.

You will attend regular meetings with clients, create reports and present results, new concepts and strategies.

When appropriate, you may need to meet with clients outside of working hours for client entertainment and relationship building.

Your Skill-Set

- High level of experience in planning and presenting digital marketing strategies

- Proven track record of managing multiple key client accounts

- Expert knowledge of technical SEO

- Proven successes developing and implementing content-led SEO campaigns

- Proven successes strategising, developing & managing SEO campaigns that deliver proven value for your clients (agency, freelance or in-house)

- Ability to analyse, interpret and improve campaign results

- Confidence & familiarity with Google Analytics (incl. implementation of tracking codes)

- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint and GoogleDocs
(Google Sheets etc)

- Excellent organisational and time-management skills

- Outstanding organisational skills, attention to detail and the capability to prioritise work

- Commercial awareness to drive businesses forwards

- Ability to delegate effectively and work alongside multiple partners

- An ability, willingness & eagerness to learn about all new aspects of SEO

- Proven team player, approachable and fun-loving

- Ability to work on set individual performance goals and KPIs

- Ability to conduct yourself in a ‘professional’ manner - incl. strong written, presentation and communication skills

Nice-to-Haves

- Google AdWords Certified

- Google Analytics Qualified

- Working knowledge & familiarity of Wordpress

- Working knowledge & familiarity of Magento

- Familiarity with HTML

- Familiarity with APIs

- Account management experience

- Project management experience

- Familiarity with project/time management tools (Basecamp, Harvest, ResourceGuru etc.)
